As I look back on all we have been through, I am truly amazed at God’s blessings – over and over and over again! God was on every mountaintop and in every valley. He was with us throughout each step of the journey, and I know He is with us now.

I can hardly believe it was just over one year ago when I prayed that desperate prayer. There are days when it feels like it was yesterday and others when it feels like it has been years! While I truly miss my former team, I am grateful to stay connected with so many of them. Last year, I remember a conversation with a friend and colleague when I was sharing my sadness about not being helpful to my former team. Some had lost their jobs, others were moved onto different teams – it wasn’t what I had hoped for them. What she said I will cherish in my heart forever. She said, “while they can break up your former team and move them into different roles, no one can take away what you did to support, develop and care for them.” Thank you, SJ, for those perfect words at the perfect time!

One Year Later

Where am I today? Well, I am truly grateful for my new job. I work for a great company with amazing people. We have amazing leaders and I truly love my team. I am also so happy to share that one of my former colleagues joined our team, so I get to work closely with her again, too! When I see where I am today, I know this is all in God’s plans. I have the opportunity to do the work I love with an amazing team – and – we didn’t have to move! While I do need to travel for work, my family understands it means we don’t have to move again. When I am at home, we spend intentional quality time as a family. We likely spend more quality time together now than we would have if I had a role not requiring travel.

What about school? I took the Spring 2024 semester off of school when starting the new role, but I was able to restart my coursework in the Fall. God willing, one year from now I will have completed the program. I have loved what I have learned thus far and look forward to my last four classes. I also look forward to researching and writing my thesis. I hope to share more throughout this next year.

What is this about Baptism? Well, that is a longer story. I will share more in my post next week.
